Oftentimes I find myself thinking, “Geeze Nick, you sure have way too many games on your plate as is…what are you actively doing to keep yourself continually backlogged with titles?”
That’s when I generally end up calling up Kurt/Zander/insert another equally gaming-addicted friend and making a trip to Best Buy or GameStop. However, this isn’t always the most efficient way to discover that nothing remains (or that, remarkably, something still remains) for one to waste spend money on. Time is money…and so is gasoline, for that matter.

Some people are afraid of changes.
Just ask Billy Corgan, or whoever that country singer was that sang the song before he covered it with the Pumpkins.
I, on the other hand, embrace change.
It’s a nice way of saying that you lack the focus, determination, and drive to stick with something without…well…typing exactly what I just typed.

I figured while working on my review of The Saboteur that I’d give all of you something else to peruse meanwhile, something akin to that all-too sticky issue of Highlights! in your dentist’s waiting room. Sure, it’s not the Swimsuit Edition of Sports Illustrated, but it’ll still keep you from having to make small talk with the 70+ old geezer whose been creepily staring your way for the past nine minutes, and who is no doubt envisioning X-rated fantasies involving the two of you. Was that analogy too in-depth? Oh, well.

Well…some of you are wrapping up Heavy Rain (or your umpteenth play-through of such) or Mass Effect 2, and others might have recently started up Final Fantasy XIII or God of War 3. A couple of you are working on completely obscure and aged gems like Wild Arms 3 or A Bard’s Tale (if you just so happened to stumble on this “diamond in the rough” as I did…great find on Bill’s part at GameBoss…seriously, even if you don’t know what you want to play next, Bill’s always got something interesting in stock).

Currently, I’m experiencing a bit of Dragon Age: Origins “burnout,” and as much as I’d like to attribute it to the insane amount of time I’ve piled into it (roughly 42 hours, which, for me, is a lot) or that fact that Origins and I have been “going steady” for near on two weeks now, I know what it is. And, to be honest, I’m not certain if I’m pleased with my ability to discern the truth, or startled with just what encompasses said truth.

There’s been a maelstrom of activity in the news lately surrounding well…the world’s fascination with Farmville, amongst Zynga Games’ other titles, such as Mafia Wars, Cafe World, and FishVille. One could take the time to delve into all of them, but truth be told, all of those games involve re-skinning the original core mechanics, with minor deviations (One of my main “beefs” with these titles). As a hardcore gamer, part of me feels obligated to simply look down (yes, that’s right down) on these casual gamers with a righteous degree of disdain, and leave the issue at that.

Looking back at the different series’ that I’ve started, I noticed that in terms of the sheer amount of feedback, the last “Game In Progress” actually fared quite well, so I figured I’d bring it back.
Because I miss hearing from you guys.
(But…mostly…because I’m still working on finishing up a couple games…ergo, no “game review” material as it stands.)

Sooo…A couple days back I began looking for news pieces to cover in my Multi-Award-Winning Series (see: self-induced pats on the back) “8 Gaming Tidbits.” But I wasn’t happy with most of what I read and put the list on hold until the 8 tidbits I had accumulated were satisfactory enough. Then, of course, the server went down last weekend for the better part of two days, and I spent the weekend in Chicago. I assure you, only the latter was planned. Needless to say, the first event or two on this list are slightly dated now, but are noteworthy nonetheless.

What I’m getting at is this: if you haven’t played Dragon Age: Origins and you think you might, DON’T READ THE REMAINDER OF THIS POST. If you’re playing Dragon Age: Origins and haven’t completed it, CONTINUE READING AT YOUR OWN RISK. Granted, I’m not done with the game, but because I might have made different decisions/done things in a different manner and/or order, I don’t wanna take any risks.

People (0f Earth…or wherever you dwell) I really am not known for getting mad. Simply put, the act of being angry, when it naturally escalates, results in fisticuffs. Let it be said, I would only be minutely successful in brawlin’ because people would have to get over the sheer shock that Nick White, who normally utilizes verbal abuse of the rhetorical and sarcastic variety, actually hit them. After the person manages to “get over” that mindsplosion, it’d be all over for me.
